Nigel’s 30 years in the food industry has gained him extensive knowledge across all operational and technical functions within many food manufacturing categories. Recently Nigel has been driven by emerging technologies which will revolutionise the food industry. Nigel’s focus within SPHere is to deliver best in class and forward thinking technologies, that push the boundaries of manufacturing processes at an operational level, including hygiene, process automation and robotic systems. His deep-rooted expertise in food manufacturing ensures we deliver best-in-class design services for our clients.
Andy Riches is Engineering Director for SPHere. He has a wealth of experience with food manufacturing plant and factory services across ambient chilled and frozen operations. After engineering roles on nuclear submarines, power stations and heavy industry, Andy spent 17 years as Operations Director for English Provender Company in Berkshire followed by a broader Operations and Engineering Director role for the Billington Group. Andy’s focus is to deliver exceptional design, technology and enhanced services for SPHere clients across all sectors of our operations.
Giles Caswell is Design Director for SPHere, with over 20 years of Architectural design and construction experience. Giles previously worked as a Project Director at Ashton Smith Associates (ASA), leading design projects including SmartParc SEGRO Derby. At ASA, Giles was heavily involved in the design and delivery of hundreds of industrial projects; e-commerce, automated, controlled environments, cold stores and food processing and manufacturing projects.
Kate is a highly accomplished leader within the food industry with over 25 years’ experience in the sector. Throughout her career, Kate has been responsible for delivering well over 100 food projects worldwide from concept design to construction handover. As a Director of SmartParc, she took responsibility for all client factory designs, working with internal and external professional teams to develop our state-of-the-art food manufacturing parks. More recently, she has also played a critical role supporting SmartParc’s international expansion, drawing upon her specialist knowledge and experience working across the US and Europe. Kate's interpersonal and management skills have enabled her to build successful teams and nurture talent. Driven by passion, Kate consistently delivers in a fast-paced environment, working alongside clients to help them design and build their ideal facilities. As Chief Operating Officer, Kate leads a team harnessing a range of expertise across both food & drink processing and industrial automation. She defines clear strategic objectives and ensures we provide leading services across all projects
